Grazia Tancredi
Grazia has been living in London since transferring from Italy in 1998. Although a lawyer by training she has followed her passion for art and now works as a professional artist. She paints at the Hampstead School of Art of which she is an active member.
Grazia works with oils. Her early years were spent detailing classical landscapes and still life but her painting has since evolved to include abstract colour, floral works and select portraits for special individuals. Dawn, Dusk, Sunrise and Sunset are a series of works mapping the daily transition of light forms. Her works feature the rich use of colour ordered by the skilful use of unique brush strokes.
Grazia focuses on the delicate relationship between humanity and nature as so vividly portrayed in Midsummer Night and Midsummer Magic each of which brilliantly captures the colour, shade and movement of the modern world.
Her recent floral creations have introduced a mystical and romantic dimension to her painting as illustrated by The Kite and Dreaming on Hampstead Heath. She increasingly uses the colour gold to enrich her works.
Grazia’s use of colour follows a path both dissolving and fading into the void leaving no security of space.
A major influence on Grazia is Klimt whose use of colour and floral arrangements highlight the beauty of life and the mystique of form.
